Any
child or young adult who is functioning below age level is eligible
for the Home Program, regardless of when the problem first
appeared or its degree. Children and young adults often come into
the program previously diagnosed with Brain Injury, Learning Disability,
Developmental Delay, Reading Disability, Dyslexia, Cerebral Palsy,
Mental Retardation, Epilepsy, Hyperactivity, ADHD, ADD, Autism and
PDD, Down's Syndrome or other congenital syndromes, etc. Many children
have no diagnosis.
The REACH Family Institute sees families from throughout the United States and the world at its headquarters in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. Located midway between San Francisco and Portland, the Rogue Valley’s many cultural and natural attractions enable families to have a "working vacation" when they come to REACH for their consultations. This atmosphere provides parents with an ideal learning environment as they work together to help their child reach his or her potential.
Children on the Home Program in the United States are eligible for one
of two program plans depending on their level of function. Click on the
desired program below to read more information.
- Designed for those children who have significant problems in function. This includes children whose problems range from moderate learning difficulties to profound neurological problems. To obtain a full description of the child’s problems, contact REACH for more information.
Each family is seen for three days.
- First day includes a detailed developmental history, a functional evaluation, a series of physical measurements, and an explanation of our findings.
- Second day is a day of conferences to explain the "why" of the program.
- Third day involves the teaching of the specific program designed for each child.
Every four to six months for two days.
- Designed for children who are in regular or "normal" school
but having mild learning and/or behavior problems. Contact REACH
with a full description of the child’s problems and a request for
an appointment. REACH staff will determine a child’s eligibility
for the Learning Challenges Program based on information provided
by the parents.
A required seminar in brain development designed for parents of children with learning difficulties.
- One day (six hours), including
developmental history, functional evaluation, explanation of findings,
and teaching of specific program designed for the child.

For the past 24 years, families in France have also benefited from
the vast experience of the REACH team during our biannual visits to Europe.
